Kolekcionar vatrogasnog znakovlja

Vatrogasno društvo osnovano je davne 1938 godine kao Industrijska Vatrogasna četa tvornice “LA DALMATIENNE” i tako djeluje sve do 1984. godine kada prelazi u teritorijalno Dobrovoljno Vatrogasno Društvo bivše općine Omiš. Nakon što je osnovana općina Dugi Rat, DVD «DALMACIJA» izlazi iz Vatrogasne zajednice općine Omiš i postaje zasebno Dobrovoljno Vatrogasno Društvo s područjem požarne odgovornosti u općini Dugi Rat. U proteklih 70 godina postojanja, društvo nije nikad prestalo s radom niti je ono ikad bilo dovedeno u pitanje, mada je bilo velikih problema, oni su riješeni velikom upornošću, zajedništvom i profesionalnošću koje je oduvijek krasilo naše društvo… Operativni članovi društva sudjelovali su na svim velikim požarima od Zadra do Dubrovnika uključujući i otoke, te su u mnogim tim akcijama bili nagrađivani za svoj doprinos i hrabrost u sprečavanju požara, a pogotovo bi spomenuo veliki požar na otoku Pelješcu i otoku Hvaru 1998. i 1999. godine, gdje su naši momci bili odlikovani i od samog državnog vrha.Kroz godine rada društvo je prolazilo kroz vremena uspona i padova, radosnih a i tužnih dana, a zasigurno najtužnija godina u radu društva je bila 1985. kad je naš član Zdravko Rakela-Bembo izgubio svoj mladi život boreći se protiv katastrofalnog požara na otoku Korčuli. U spomen na našeg hrabrog člana DVD “DALMACIJA” organizira memorijalni malonogometni turnir vatrogasnih ekipa koji nosi njegovo ime i godinama se održava u Dugom Ratu, te je postao jedan od najorganiziranijih i najposjećenijih turnira takve vrste. Najvećim uspjehom u radu smatramo stalno pritjecanje mladih ljudi u naše društvo. Vatrogasno društvo svoju veličinu je iskazalo na svim područjima zaštite ljudi i imovine, zbog toga je i stekla mnogo prijatelja i simpatizera društva u svim krajevima Republike Hrvatske i u inozemstvu.

The fire department was founded back in 1938 as the Industrial Fire Company of the factory "LA DALMATIENNE" and operated as such until 1984, when it was transferred to the territorial Voluntary Fire Company of the former municipality of Omiš. After the Dugi Rat municipality was founded, DVD "DALMACIJA" left the Fire Department of the Omiš municipality and became a separate Voluntary Fire Company with the area of fire responsibility in the Dugi Rat municipality. In the past 70 years of existence, the company has never stopped working, nor has it ever been called into question, although there were big problems, they were solved with great persistence, togetherness and professionalism that has always adorned our company... Operative members of the company participated in all large fires from Zadar to Dubrovnik including the islands, and in many of these actions they were rewarded for their contribution and courage in preventing fires, and I would especially like to mention the big fire on the island of Pelješac and the island of Hvar in 1998 and 1999, where our guys were honored even by the top of the state. Throughout the years of work, the society went through times of ups and downs, happy and sad days, and certainly the saddest year in the society's work was 1985, when our member Zdravko Rakela-Bembo lost his young life fighting against the catastrophic fire on the island of Korčula. In memory of our brave member, DVD "DALMACIJA" organizes a memorial mini-football tournament of firemen's teams that bears his name and has been held in Dugi Rat for years, and has become one of the most organized and most visited tournaments of its kind. We consider the constant influx of young people into our society to be the greatest success in our work. The fire department has demonstrated its greatness in all areas of protection of people and property, which is why it has gained many friends and sympathizers of the company in all parts of the Republic of Croatia and abroad.
