Dobrovoljno vatrogasno društvo Ježica središnja je postrojba sektora Sjever Gasilske brigade Ljubljana (nekadašnji sektor Bežigrad i Gasilska zveza občine Ljubljana). Udruga je 3. kategorije i broji 137 članova od čega 45 u operativnom sastavu. Operativni članovi brinu o javnoj vatrogasnoj službi u Općini Ljubljana. Imamo raznoliko požarište koje obuhvaća šumu i livade uz rijeku Savu na sjeveru, ruralno okruženje u Ježici, Maloj vasi, Savlju i Kleču, razvija se i mala industrijska zona na rubu Savelje, kod vatrogasnog doma u Ježica je solidna urbana sredina s visokim zgradama, sve do neigračkog stadiona na jugu. Među našim operativnim članovima imamo i grupu koja je osposobljena za spašavanje s visina i dubina, posebno za spašavanje u urbanoj sredini užetnom tehnikom. Za spomenuto spašavanje imamo i ugovor s Općinom Ljubljana. Udruga ima i grupu članova koji su educirani iz područja hitne medicinske pomoći. Članovi pohađaju mjesečne vježbe na području sektora i drugdje u Ljubljani. Svake godine sudjeluju na natjecanju koje organizira Općina Ljubljana. Osim operativnih članova, udrugu čine i vatrogasni veterani i vatrogasna mladež. Članovi naše vatrogasne udruge puno rade i brinu o vatrogasnoj mladeži, jer smo svjesni koliko je važno očuvati vatrogasne vrijednosti i znanje. U udruzi djeluje Klub mladih, koji pohađaju djeca od 6 do 16 godina, kada steknu uvjete za operativne članove. Naši mlađi članovi tako se tjedno sastaju s osnovama vatrogastva, s vatrogasnom tehnikom u svakodnevnom životu, preventivnim mjerama, postupanjem u slučaju manjih požara i drugim zabavnim stvarima... Sudjeluju i na vatrogasnim natjecanjima, orijentacijskom natjecanju, vatrogasnom kvizovi, skijaška natjecanja organizirana u okviru Gasilske zveze Ljubljane i sektorsko skijaško natjecanje. Osim mladeži, na natjecanjima sudjeluju i ostali članovi.
The Ježica volunteer fire brigade is the central unit of the North sector of the Ljubljana Fire Brigade (formerly the Bežigrad sector and the Ljubljana Municipal Fire Brigade). The association is of the 3rd category and has 137 members, of which 45 are in the operational composition. Operational members take care of the public fire service in the Municipality of Ljubljana. We have a varied fire area that covers forest and meadows along the Sava River in the north, a rural environment in Ježica, Mali vasa, Savlje and Kleče, a small industrial zone is also developing on the edge of Savelje, near the fire station in Ježica there is a solid urban environment with tall buildings, all the way to the non-playing stadium in the south. Among our operational members, we also have a group that is trained for rescue from heights and depths, especially for rescue in an urban environment with rope technique. We also have a contract with the Municipality of Ljubljana for the aforementioned rescue. The association also has a group of members who are educated in the field of emergency medical assistance. Members attend monthly exercises in the area of the sector and elsewhere in Ljubljana. Every year they take part in a competition organized by the Municipality of Ljubljana. In addition to operational members, the association also consists of firefighter veterans and firefighter youth. The members of our firefighting association do a lot of work and take care of the firefighter youth, because we are aware of how important it is to preserve the firefighter's values and knowledge. A youth club takes place in the association, which is attended by children aged 6 to 16, when they complete the conditions for operative members. Our younger members thus meet weekly with the basics of firefighting, with firefighting techniques in everyday life, preventive measures, how to act in case of small fires and other fun things... They also take part in firefighting competitions, orienteering competitions, firefighting quizzes, skiing competitions organized in within the framework of the Ljubljana Firefighters Association and the sectoral skiing competition. In addition to the youth, other members also participate in the competitions.
