DVD DARUVAR

U ratnom razdoblju 1941.

The voluntary fire brigade Daruvar was founded on June 19, 1880 on the initiative of the landowner Skender Tüköry, who was also the first president of the society. The first members of the society were almost exclusively craftsmen. In the year of the company's founding, the first fire tower was built on the site of today's railway station. In 1894, it was moved to the former old Daruvar fairgrounds. In 1910, the tower was demolished and a new one was built, roughly on the site of today's City Pharmacy. The first ordinance or statute of the society was drawn up on June 19, 1880, and in 1890 a "treasury for the support of sick comrades and in case of death" was established within the society to support a fund that had special administration and regulations governing the rights and obligations of members. The time since the founding of the society has been filled with the effort for the society to be as numerous as possible in terms of membership, materially strengthened, gain as much sympathy as possible and be as well organized as possible. Aspirations that are equally current after more than 120 years of operation. How successful it was in its efforts is shown by the fact that by the end of the 19th century (1899) 8 fire brigades were founded in the vicinity of Daruvar. The company had at its disposal several of the most necessary and simple fire extinguishers. In 1900 he procured a stretcher, and in 1902 the first manual transport syringe. In June 1905, the society celebrated the 25th anniversary of its operation with a large, at that time obligatory, ceremony in the presence of societies from the surrounding area and delegations from several remote societies from Slavonia and the participation of firefighters. Thirty-two members of the society celebrated the anniversary in new uniforms. In the first decade of the 20th century, fires became more frequent and larger. There were on average more than 20 fires a year. Frequent cases were intentional fires due to insurance speculation with insurance companies. On May 4, 1914, an annual assembly was held at which several firefighters were decorated. The Society had 50 executives, 30 founders, 8 honorary and 65 supporting members (6 since the founding of the Society). In the war years 1914-1919, most members of the society were scattered throughout the military units. The overall activity of the society is declining. It was not until July 1919 that membership fees were collected again. With the founding of the Fire Brigade Parish with its headquarters in Daruvar in 1926, the Daruvar Society became the center of firefighting activity and in 1929 received the first car syringe. The Society celebrates its 50th anniversary on June 8, 1930. The company has always been engaged in its core business - firefighting, firefighting equipment and training, but also cultural and educational activities, as evidenced by the founding of the first music DVD in Daruvar in 1931, which ceased to operate within the fire brigade in 1957. At the regular assembly, on May 10, 1931, it was noted that the society had 48 executives, 73 founders and 195 supporting members, and the first members of the society, Josip Houžvička and Karlo Lokotar, still worked in it. In the last years before the Second World War, the society was quite strong, the activity increased even though the first setbacks and misunderstandings appeared. The company tried to complete the devices and equipment, and in 1933 it acquired an electric siren, and in 1935 a generator and 4 lamps on acetylene gas. During the war period of 1941-1945, the work of the society stagnated, but it was completely renewed in the last months of 1945. On December 27 of the same year, a meeting was held in the presence of the commissioner for the renewal of the fire brigade, Vladimir Leja. The Society repaired its inventory during the year and was accessed by almost all members from previous years. In the period until 1954, the society had 18 active members who were joined during the year by 10 new members and 90 new supporting members, and the Daruvar district administration provided funds for the repair of inventory and the purchase of work uniforms. In addition to practical and one public exercise, the society held two cultural and educational events. The company celebrated its 75th anniversary on June 26, 1955 in the presence of 31 companies from 7 fire brigades and 323 active firefighters. In recognition of their work, the company received a third social flag as a gift. With the problem of the fifties, Daruvar firefighters point out the small number of executive members (out of 24, 17 remain, and there were times when there were 60 active firefighters in the company), and that there are no intellectuals in the company. An important event was the purchase of a tank truck in 1957. That same year, forty firefighters made a significant contribution to rescuing property from a major flood in early May. There were also 6 professional lectures, 16 exercises and competitions, and intervention in 4 fires. That year, a concert with entertainment and a raffle was organized and a theatrical play from firefighting life was performed. Attention continues to be paid to firefighting training.
