DVD GRUBIŠNO POLJE
Godine 1887. osniva se Dobrovoljno vatrogasno društvo u Grubišnom Polju. Na samom početku razvoja nije imalo potporu građanstva te rad zamire. Dolaskom učitelja Vjekoslava Klemena na čelo društva, uz podršku upravitelja kotarske vlasti, Društvo doživljava bolje dane tako da se 1887. godine i registrira i uvodi u evidenciji Hrvatske vatrogasne zajednice i u Državnom arhivu u Zagrebu. Članovi Dobrovoljnog vatrogasnog društva Grubišno Polje ( u daljnjem tekstu članovima DVD – a ) s velikim entuzijazmom organiziraju razne manifestacije zabavnoga karaktera ( doček Nove godine, popularne « majaluse « , prigodne zabave za vjerske svečanosti i dr. ). Prema provjerenim podacima DVD Grubišno Polje 1891. godine sudjeluje u akciji gašenja požara u selu Mali Zdenci. U statističkom godišnjaku Austro – Ugarske monarhije za Kraljevinu Hrvatsku, Slavoniju i Dalmaciju iz 1906 – 1910. godine u Kotaru Grubišno Polje organizirano je samo jedno DVD i to u Grubišnom Polju. DVD broji 30 članova, a od vatrogasnih sprava i oruđa posjeduje: jednu vučnu štrcaljku u dobrom stanju, tri ručne štrcaljke u dobrom stanju, osam zaimača (kanti), 56 ostalih sprava i oruđa i tri munjovoda.
Vatrogasni učitelj Mirko Kolarić pohađao je pučku školu u Grubišnom Polju, a niže razrede Gimnazije u Varaždinu gdje postaje dobrovoljni vatrogasac u prvom vatrogasnom zboru u Varaždinu. Kasnije prelazi u Zagreb gdje ubrzo postaje vježbatelj i gasilanar DVD – a Zagreb. Od 1893. godine postaje tajnik Hrvatsko – slavonske vatrogasne zajednice i na toj dužnosti ostaje sve do 1928. godine. Napisao je mnogobrojne vatrogasne priručnike za obuku članova DVD–a. Za vrijeme I. Svjetskoga rata u našoj sredini nije bilo ratnih stradavanja i DVD Grubišno Polje ulazi u novu državu Kraljevinu Jugoslaviju sa sačuvanom opremom i tehnikom. Austro – Ugarska monarhija se raspada, a članovi DVD–a Grubišno Polje se okupljaju i organiziraju kako bi mogli uspješno obavljati zaštitu i spašavanje od požara na području općine i kotara Grubišno Polje. Napad na Kraljevinu SHS 1941. godine i okupacija zemlje donosi neprocjenjivu štetu DVD–u. Tijekom ratnih stradanja dolazi do zamiranja rada na svim područjima društvenoga života pa tako i rada DVD – a Grubišno Polje. Opremu otuđuju, nestaju zastave društva, knjige zapisnika, gotovo sav inventar. Kontinuitet rada društva bio je prekinut. Unutar društva za vrijeme rata nije bilo nadzora, što je u doba općeg razdora i kaosa uvjetovalo prekid rada.
In 1887, the Voluntary Fire Brigade was founded in Grubišno Polje. At the very beginning of the development, there was no support from the citizens and the work stopped. With the arrival of teacher Vjekoslav Klemen at the head of the society, with the support of the county governor, the Society experienced better days, so in 1887 it was registered and entered in the records of the Croatian Fire Brigade and the State Archives in Zagreb. Members of the Grubišno Polje Voluntary Fire Brigade (hereinafter referred to as DVD members) enthusiastically organize various events of an entertaining nature (New Year's Eve, popular "majalus", occasional parties for religious ceremonies, etc.). According to verified data, in 1891 DVD Grubišno Polje took part in a firefighting operation in the village of Mali Zdenci. In the statistical yearbook of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy for the Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia from 1906-1910 in the District of Grubišno Polje, only one DVD was organized in Grubišno Polje. The DVD has 30 members, and from firefighting devices and tools it has: one towing syringe in good condition, three hand syringes in good condition, eight borrowers (buckets), 56 other devices and tools and three lightning rods. Fire teacher Mirko Kolarić attended elementary school in Grubišno Polje, and lower grades of the Gymnasium in Varaždin, where he became a volunteer firefighter in the first fire brigade in Varaždin. He later moved to Zagreb, where he soon became a trainee and fireman for DVD Zagreb. From 1893 he became the secretary of the Croatian-Slavonian Fire Brigade and remained in that position until 1928. He has written numerous firefighting manuals to train DVD members. During the First World War, there were no casualties in our area and DVD Grubišno Polje enters the new state of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia with preserved equipment and techniques. The Austro-Hungarian monarchy is disintegrating, and members of the Grubišno Polje DVD are gathering and organizing so that they can successfully carry out fire protection and rescue in the municipality and district of Grubišno Polje. The attack on the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes in 1941 and the occupation of the country brought invaluable damage to the DVD. During the war, work in all areas of social life, including the work of the Grubišno Polje DVD, died out. Equipment is being stolen, company flags, record books, almost all inventory are disappearing. The continuity of the society's work was interrupted. There was no control within the society during the war, which led to the cessation of work in times of general discord and chaos.
