Društvo je osnovano: 1951. godine u sastavu je požarnog sektora Prespa
1983 – mladež osvaja pobjede na natjecanjima. Neki od njih su danas dužnosnici u DVD-u
1998 – društvo upisano u Registar udruga pri Županijskom uredu za opću upravu u Bjelovaru
2002. godine DVD Prespa je od VZG Bjelovara dobilo traktorsku cisternu sa cjevinama, mlaznicama, zaštitnim kombinezonima, opasačima i kacigama
2003. god. na Izbornoj Skupštini izvršene su kadrovske promjene u društvu
2005. godine – počela izgradnja vatrogasnog doma financiranog od grada Bjelovara i VZG Bjelovara
2006. godine:
5 članova društva uspješno završilo program osposobljavanja za zvanje vatrogasac
DVD je dobilo na poklon zemljište za izgradnju vatrogasnog spremišta. Donator zemljišta je gosp. Đuro Ožegović, dopredsjednik društva. U toku je ishođenje potrebne dokumentacije za izgradnju.
