DVD Kamanje was founded on May 5, 1922. After the gathering, the first activity was the beginning of the construction of the Firehouse in 1953, which was completed with additions in 1973 and 1989 for the 70th anniversary of the Society in 2002. The company, with its modest capabilities, operates in the area of Kamanje Municipality, and the settlements of Veliki Vrh Kamanjski, Mali Vrh Kamanjski and Preseka with around 180 households. The company is financed from the budget of the Municipality of Kamanje, and various donations, of which it especially appreciates the donations of Mr. Franc Krope from Maribor. The company is active in firefighting competitions, from the municipal to the national level, and in competitions with neighboring DVDs Metlika and Črnomelj from neighboring Slovenia. For its work, DVD has received recognition and awards from the famous: the VSH Gold Medal in 1982 and the HVZ Gold Medal. It also has a number of individual awards starting from regular medals to the Medal for Special Merits and the Charter and Plaque of Đura Deželić to two members of the Society.
