Dobrovoljno vatrogasno društvo Gradac osnovano je 15. rujna 1959. godine, a osnivači su Ivan Bočić, Janko Rade, Dragutin Vinković, Mija Sačerić i Franjo Jelkovec. Veoma važno je istaknuti da se za vrijeme Domovinskg rata svi članovi uključuju u obranu i mobilizaciju u Narodnu zaštitu koja u listopadu prelazi u 129 brigadu Republike Hrvatske. Na žalost u ratu su život izgubila petrica članova Društva: Željko Lovrić, Fabijan Međeral, Stjepan Lovrić, Danijel Rade i Dražen Fundurulić. Njima u Spomen izrađena je kapelica sv. Florijana sa spomen pločom.
The Voluntary Fire Department (DVD) of Gradac was founded on September 15, 1959, by Ivan Bočić, Janko Rade, Dragutin Vinković, Mija Sačerić, and Franjo Jelkovec.The Society’s history is marked by profound bravery during the Croatian War of Independence. At the onset of the conflict, all members joined the National Protection units, which were later integrated into the 129th Brigade of the Croatian Army in October 1991. Tragically, five members of the Society—Željko Lovrić, Fabijan Međeral, Stjepan Lovrić, Danijel Rade, and Dražen Fundurulić—laid down their lives in defense of their homeland. In their honor, a Chapel of St. Florian was erected, featuring a memorial plaque to ensure their sacrifice is never forgotten
