Prve pisane tragove o vatrogastvu Grada Ðurđevca imamo iz 1880. godine, kada se prvi puta spominje Dobrovoljno vatrogasno društvo Đurđevac, ali je ono najvjerojatnije osnovano nešto ranije. Društvo uspješno djeluje do I svjetskog rata, uvježbava članstvo i nabavlja potrebnu opremu. Značajniji događaji u radu društva su osnivanje vatrogasne glazbe 1922. godine koja i dan danas aktivno djeluje, kao i stalno nastojanje društva da se izgradi toranj za vježbe kao i vatrogasni dom. Prve vlastite prostorije za rad društva, garažiranje opreme kao i toranj za vježbu društvo dobiva 1948. godine kupnjom i adaptacijom privatne zgrade. Ovu zgradu društvo koristi sve do 1963. godine kada počinje gradnja Vatrogasnog doma u centru grada. Isti je dovršen 1965. godine uz pomoć Općine i političkih organizacija sa tri velike garaže i tornjem za vježbu. Krajem šezdesetih i početkom sedamdesetih godina počinju istraživački radovi na pronalaženju nafte i plina na području Podravine što zahtjeva značajnije angažiranje vatrogasaca prilikom ovih aktivnosti. Zahvaljujući otkrivanju većih količina nafte i plina, te davanju usluga zaštite firmi INA-Naftaplin, društvo dolazi do značajnijih sredstava koje koristi za nabavu opreme i rad društva. Uskoro uz prvu cisternu TAM 4500 koja je nabavljena 1963. godine društvo kupuje još jednu cisternu, autoljestvu i kombi vozilo. Sve ove aktivnosti i rad društva uzrokovale su i značajniju promjenu u samoj organizaciji društva. Tako je tokom 1975. godine osnovano stalno dežurstvo u društvu i oformljena profesionalna jezgra od 5 profesionalnih vatrogasaca koja je do 1980. godine došla do brojke od 12 vatrogasaca.

The society operated successfully until the First World War, training the membership and acquiring the necessary equipment. More significant events in the society's work are the founding of the fire brigade's band in 1922, which is still active today, as well as the society's constant efforts to build a tower for exercises as well as a fire station. In 1948, the company acquired its first premises for the company's work, equipment garage, as well as a practice tower, through the purchase and adaptation of a private building. This building was used by the company until 1963, when the construction of the Fire Station in the city center began. It was completed in 1965 with the help of the Municipality and political organizations with three large garages and an exercise tower. At the end of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1970s, research works on finding oil and gas began in the Podravina area, which required a significant engagement of firefighters during these activities. Thanks to the discovery of larger quantities of oil and gas, and the provision of protection services to the company INA-Naftaplin, the company obtains significant funds, which it uses for the purchase of equipment and the company's work. Soon, in addition to the first tank TAM 4500, which was purchased in 1963, the company bought another tank, a car ladder and a van. All these activities and the work of the company caused a significant change in the organization of the company itself. Thus, during 1975, permanent duty was established in the company and a professional core of 5 professional firefighters was formed, which reached the number of 12 firefighters by 1980.
