The professional fire department was founded on September 1, 1980 under the name Center for Fire Protection of the Municipality of Đurđevac with a total of about 30 professional firefighters, at the request of INE-Naftaplin and the Adriatic Pipeline (then the Yugoslav Pipeline). The same takes over the professional firefighters of the Đurđevac Volunteer Fire Company and hires a few new ones. From the 1980s onwards, the professional unit very successfully cooperates and provides insurance for the most important oil and gas facilities in Podravina, with six gas stations and the Central gas station in Molvi with about 40 active wells spread over the area of Đurđevića Podravina and an area of 250 km2.. There is also a successful cooperation with the company "JANAF" and their Terminal in Virje. Due to the chronic lack of financial resources in the Municipality's budget and the great need for the purchase of new vehicles and equipment, additional insurance is sought outside our area, so from 1983 to 1997 we insured the most important Naftaplin plant, the "Etan" Ivanič Grad degasilonage. Thanks to all the mentioned activities, the Fire Department is financed in the mentioned time period, with the funds of its own activity and up to 80% of which a significant part is used for the purchase of new vehicles and other equipment, so that by the mid-1990s the figure of 15 fire engines was reached , various purposes. Given that already in the mid-80s, the garage space in the old fire station was too small, preparations are being made for the construction of new spaces in the industrial zone of Ðurđevac. Construction began in 1989, but due to social changes, it was suspended when it resumed in the fall of 1991, at the time of the greatest war destruction in Croatia. The Troop building was finally completed and occupied in September 1994, and it is this building where we are now. In 1993, the fire department was reorganized in the Republic of Croatia, and the previous Municipal Fire Protection Centers were abolished and Fire Stations were established under the direct authority of the MUP of the Republic of Croatia.
