Spomenute 1926. godine Dobrovoljno vatrogasno društvo Veliškovci osnovano je na inicijativu ondašnjeg učitelja Ivana Dvoržaka i nekolicine mještana. Tada je u Društvo uključeno 18 članova. Broj članova raste pa tako 1928. godine društvo broji 28 izvršujućih članova: Nikola Klem, Adam Futerer, Joško Mamštarik, Josip Faj, Nikloz Klem, Đuro Gregić, Jozo Gregić, Milan Galinović, Adam Vinogradac, Konrad Lorenc, Ivan Fabak, Lovro Klem, Antun Klem, Simon Ružar, Ivan Ružar, Antun Dresner, Franjo Berečić, Ivan Faj, Josip Hetih, Štefan Hodaj, Simon Gajer, Nikola Vendling, Franjo Dojkić, Adam Gaukler, Imbro Stepanek, Josip Klem, Ivan Futerer i Ivan Dvoržak.
In the area of the then District of Valpovo, in 1884 the Voluntary Fire Brigades were founded in Petrijevci and Belišće, in 1887 in Valpovo, in 1904 in Bistrinci, in 1924 in Gat, in 1925 in Bocanjevci, and in 1926 in Veliškovci. So, DVD Velishkovci was founded for the seventh time in a row in the area of the former District of Valpovo. Mentioned in 1926, the Voluntary Fire Brigade Veliškovci was founded on the initiative of the then teacher Ivan Dvoržak and several locals. At that time, 18 members were included in the Society. The first superintendent was Josip Klem, the commander Nikola Klem, and the secretary Ivan Dvoržak. The company was registered and entered in the registry book of VSO Valpovo on May 14, 1926. On October 8, 1927, the company was accepted and entered into the register of members of the Croatian-Slavonian Fire Brigade. The number of members grew so that in 1928 the society had 28 executive members: Nikola Klem, Adam Futerer, Joško Mamštarik, Josip Faj, Nikloz Klem, Đuro Gregić, Jozo Gregić, Milan Galinović, Adam Vinogradac, Konrad Lorenc, Ivan Fabak, Lovro Klem, Antun Klem, Simon Ružar, Ivan Ružar, Antun Dresner, Franjo Berečić, Ivan Faj, Josip Hetih, Štefan Hodaj, Simon Gajer, Nikola Vendling, Franjo Dojkić, Adam Gaukler, Imbro Stepanek, Josip Klem, Ivan Futerer and Ivan Dvoržak. At the beginning of its operation, the DVD had a great help from DVD Valpovo in training and rehearsing members and instructions for work. With the creation of the Company, the procurement of firefighting equipment began: two hand-held fire syringes and a barrel for transporting water. One hand-held fire hydrant is still on display today next to the fire station in Veliškovci, and one together with the barrel was donated to the museum in Valpovo. Funds for the purchase of the necessary equipment were collected through voluntary contributions from the locals.
