Kao početak organiziranog djelovanja društva spominje se 9.lipanj 1929. godine kada je bila sazvana prva konstituirajuća Skupština DVD-a Križovljan Cestica kojoj je prisustvovalo 58 žitelja tog kraja. Prvim predsjednikom Društva imenovan je Ivo Marčec, tadašnji općinski bilježnik, dok je prvim tajnikom Društva imenovan Josip Grđan. Tadašnji križovljanski župnik Martin Pižeta imenovan je društvenim dušobrižnikom. Prvo vatreno krštenje novoosnovanog društva bila je u noći 15. lipnja 1929. kada je u Falić Bregu izgorjela drvena kuća Jelke Marčec. supruge tadašnjeg predsjednika DVD-a Križovljan Cestica.
